What Reddit really thinks about EOR providers

We read the threads so you do not have to. Every Employer of Record provider below is ranked on real community discussion we screened for relevance, filtering out job ads and marketing plants, then labelled positive, neutral or negative. We refresh it monthly. This is community signal, not our verdict, and it is kept separate from the Select Score.

// the ranking

Every provider, ranked by community sentiment

The metric is net sentiment: the share of positive mentions minus the share of negative ones, over a provider’s approved mentions. A provider needs at least 10 approved mentions to be ranked. The last column compares this community signal to our data-driven Select Score: when Reddit is meaningfully warmer or cooler than the score, we say so. How we screen and score →

// not enough community signal yet

Discussed, but too thinly to rank

These providers have between one and 9 approved mentions, so we show the count but pass on a sentiment verdict. A handful of posts is not a reputation. As more discussion accrues, they move into the ranking above.

Human support is their biggest strength - no chatbots when you need help. Platform feels dated but handles custom contracts well. Proactive on compliance changes which saved us headaches.

They screwed up my life insurance to the point I didn't have coverage for 2 years. I've been trying to get this fixed for the last 3 weeks and they keep 'thanking me for my patience'.

Option 1 is not ruled out yet, but HR gave me the impression that it is not certain yet, due to the high cost for the company to hire me and pay taxes in Spain on my gross salary.

Hi everyone, I’m based in Europe and looking to hire a person based in Johannesburg. Rather than setting up a South African company, I’m considering using an Employer of Record (EOR) service to handle contracts, payroll, and compliance.

The HR team told me that in order to do this, we need to write a resignation letter to safeguard and later on will be given a contract from oyster. AFAIK this is not normal?

I’m about to get hired for a part-time marketing gig. My employer wanted to work on an invoice only base, but my friend suggested me to look into an EOR provider so that I can get my local benefits. He suggested Deel or Remote.

Imam ponudu za rad s firmom koja me želi zaposlit preko Native Teams EOR (Employer Of Reference) servisa i mnogo sam zbunjena. Ovoj pravnoj bakici u ITju treba pomoć. Prvo, Native Teams je tražio da im slikam dokumente za ugovor o radu, aj dobro.

So we switched to Gusto but it glitched a few times and trying to get a hold of the support team was really painful and slow.

we were told that we switched over to a new PEO system (using some company called Justworks) and a mistake was made so none of us will be able to contribute to our 401Ks until 2023.

Their customer support reps are masters of giving you the run-around because they don't have power to do anything to fix the garbage app. Like Intuit, they're too big to care about your issues.

// how we screen

Why this is not just a keyword scrape

Relevance first

Every candidate mention is checked for whether it is genuinely about the provider’s EOR service. Job ads at the provider, SEO listicles and marketing drip are filtered out before anything is counted.

Shill filtering

Reddit is anonymous, and some posts come from competitors or marketing agencies. Accounts that look promotional are flagged and down-weighted, and we verify that a mention is relevant, not that any single comment is true.

Human and AI gates

A person approves relevance; the sentiment label and one-line reason are generated, and a human can override any of them. The math that turns labels into a number is documented, not a black box.

The sentiment here is community signal, not our verdict. It feeds the Reputation dimension of the Select Score but never overrides it. We re-check Reddit monthly; the newest approved mention is from Jul 2026. Read the full method →
